Paper Funday Challenge #61 - January

Image
Hi Friends,  I hope you are well today. Over at  Paper Funday,   it is challenge Day, and today's challenge is "Anything Goes" but there is an Optional Twist of " Let's Celebrate " This is my design team entry. This was such a fun card to make.  All you need is a 6x6" card blank and a 6x6" piece of card and a 6x6" background die, some washi tape and some ink. Using the background die, cut out the 6x6" sheet of card. Place a piece of washi tape at the edge of the card, then another next to it, and another next to that.  Remove the middle piece, and place it next to the last piece of washi tape, and repeat to the end. I used Tim Holtz distress in rainbow colours. leave to dry. Repeat the above steps on the card blank. Then glue the background to the card and voila - it should be a perfect match.  There are so many options that you can do with this technique - instead of using inks, you can use stamps.   If you have read my blog before, it ...

Inspiration Station #57 - January

Image
Hello Friends,  I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and your new year is full of fantastic things.  So did you make any New Year's resolutions? I didn't this year, because I have come to know myself very well and I know I will not stick to them :)  Well, let us get on with the challenge.  Today is a beautiful inspirational photo. So here is my Inspiration Station Challenge Design Team Entry.  This month's entry is inspired by the photo: I decided this image would make a fantastic first page in my 2024 journal. I used Tim Holtz distressed inks for the background, and a sun/moon stencil and a tree landscape stencil. I removed some of the ink by sprinkling some water and blotting it off with a paper towel. Heat embossed the sentiment Hello January and added a few gem stones. I hope you liked this journal page, and as always pop over to Inspiration Station and share your creations with us, we really do enjoy seeing your take on the photograph. Let's conn...

Welcome to my design team entry for  Creations in Pink  Challenge.  Todays theme is  Anything Goes - Mainly in Pink This is a digital stamp by The Paper Shelter.  It is supposed to be a snowball in the girl's hand, but I coloured it green, to turn it into a tennis ball and paired it up with the dog. For the background,  I used distress ink and coloured a tag.   I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder, and then a couple of stencils with a deeper shade of pink. Paper Funday #59 - November

Image
Hi Friends,  I hope you are well today. Over at  Paper Funday,   it is challenge Day, and today's challenge is "Anything Goes" but there is an Optional Twist of  "Greatful/Thankful ".    Heres my Design Team entry. I made a background using a number of distress inks and Oxides and a stencil. Then with the stencil still attached, I ran it through my Gemini, giving it a subtle embossing pattern.  You can see it better on the back of the card. Using the same colour inks, I blended some cardstock, then stamped the butterflies on.  These were adhered to some white card stock to make the butterflies pop. I stamped a "With Thanks" sentiment on some white card stock Then I added 3 little little stones in between the butterflies. Here is the card that was my inspiration. It was in Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine. Thank you for joining me today, and I hope I have given you some inspiration if you have a Butterfly stamp.  Don't forget to hop on ov...

Cardz 4 Galz #210 - Dogs and Puppies

Image
Hi Friends,  Welcome to another Cardz 4 Galz challenge Design Team entry.   Today the challenge theme is Dogs and Puppies. I had fun creating this card.  I hope you like it, and as always - don't forget to pop over to Cardz 4 Galz and share your entry with us, as we love seeing them. I started by stencilling the background.  I used Salvaged Patina for the main dots,  Peacock Feathers for the Lined dots and Twisted Citron for the dotty dots. I coloured the dogs in different ways, however, I did stick to the same pallet to give the card some overall cohesiveness, How cute are those googly eyes??? Seriously?? I cut out the sentiment, then blended a slightly larger piece of card with twisted citron distress oxide.  I will definitely be using this method again with various colours. Supplies Used: Distress Ink and Oxide Tim Holtz and Ranger Ink Twisted Citron Salvaged Patina Peacock Feathers Stamp Crafty Individuals Alcohol Markers Spectrum Noir - Tri-blen...
