Toad in the hole recipe

I love this recipe, its a hearty, comforting easy midweek meal. Which is super quick and easy to make. Ingredients For the batter 140g plain flour ½ tsp salt 2 eggs 175ml semi-skimmed milk 8 chipolatas 1 tbsp sunflower oil Method Heat oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7. Put the sausages in a roasting tin with the oil, then bake for 15-20 minutes or until browned. Meanwhile, make up the batter mix. Tip the flour into a bowl with the salt, make a well in the middle and crack both eggs into it. Use an electric whisk to mix it together, then slowly add the milk, whisking all the time. Leave to stand until the sausages are nice and brown. Remove the sausages from the oven – watch out because the fat will be sizzling hot – but if it isn’t, put the tin on the hob for a few minutes until it is. Pour in the batter mix, transfer to the top shelf of the oven, then cook for 25-30 minutes, until risen and golden. Serve with Mash, gravy and Peas Feel free to

Easy Make Stepping Stones

Image
If you loved the Stepping stone post that i posted a few years ago, there is no doubt that you will love this one too by S hellie Wilson . What you need Pre-Mix cement Petroleum jelly Bucket for Cement mix Mould You will need a small mold for these stepping stones and below are some suggestions as to what you can use. Instructions Ice cream containers, bucket bottoms, large catering margarine containers, kitty litter trays, tin foil baking and pie trays. Begin by mixing up the premix quick set cement which can be found at your local hardware store. Follow the instructions on your brand of cement mix.  Tap out any bubbles with gentle movement. Have the children or yourself standby ready with sleeves rolled up and with petroleum jelly on their hands for protection from the cement (this will just wash off afterwards). Pour the cement into the molds and tap it until it settles nice and flat and then have the children place their hand into the mold. Alterna

Bathroom Cabinet Refurbished

Image
As you know I can’t resist a bargain, so on a day out to the sea-side I found this little sweetie in a charity shop for just £6.00. I know right, I could not leave it. Please excuse the animal print dressing gown, but it was a tad chilly It was in excellent condition, the only problem was it was mahogany, and my bathroom is beach house. Yes you guessed it, i mixed up a batch of DIY chalk paint  and set to work.  I wanted an antique white shabby chic look. I painted the outside and inside but left the backs unpainted, as i had other plans for this. I did the doors, and left the panels unpainted. I used the paper that was an ideal match, although i did have this paper  for another project, but it was perfect for this one, so i just had to use it. I used the contrasting paper for the back panels, i loved the mismatched patterns of the same colours. And here it is, my beautiful beach hut style bathroom cabinet.
