Lest We Forget - Remembrance Tag

Image
Hello Friends,  Today, I have teamed up with Whimsical Digi Art to bring you this beautiful Remembrance Sunday journal Tag. For the background, I blended Lost Light, Hickory Smoke, and Black Soot. I dried the tag then sprayed them with Decayed and Empty Tomb and heat dried the tag again. I heat embossed a poppy in copper and stamped some script text in black. I wanted something at the bottom right, so I heat embossed some barbed wire in silver, so that it would not detract from the image. This image of the boots came in black and white, I coloured them in brown using alcohol markers and used red for the poppies. Finally I stamped a Lest We Forget sentiment, and distressed it with Hickory Smoke, to make it pop out. Whimsical Digi Art has some stunning designs, in both black and white images or pre-coloured. Why not check out some of her designs on Instagram? Why not head over to the website and have a look for yourself. https://www.whimsicaldigiart.ca/ For 25% off use the code PRET...

Paper Funday Challenge #58 - All Dressed Up

Image
Hi Friends,  I hope you are well today. Over at  Paper Funday,   it is challenge Day, and today's challenge is "Anything Goes" but there is an Optional Twist of " Use Yellow, Orange, Green".  I would like to say thank you to o ur wonderful Sponsors, who are  All Dressed Up   a nd  Colour of Love . I will be using an image from All Dressed Up called Busy Shopping How cute is this image? It pairs up nicely with an old stamp set that I have in my stash.   When I saw this image I had a lash of inspiration, I wanted a French theme.  I mean which girl would not love to be shopping in Paris. I decoupaged the lady, who I think looks very much like an Emily, and the shopping bags, hat boxes and dog to give it some dimension.  Doesn't Emily look better with some added dimension to her? I stamped some script and roses in a platinum colour, and over stamped them with a Parisian postage stamp As this was not going to be a card, but a page...

A Place to Start - October Challenge

Image
Hi Friends,   Happy October.  We are getting close to Halloween now :) I'm so excited  We have a new challenge over at A Place to Start  . The theme is Anything Goes, and our fantastic sponsor is Conie Fong. How cute is this Little Pumpkin carrying Gonk? I blended the background using Twisted Citron Distress oxide and Tumbled glass Distress ink,  I married the gonk up with a little mushroom  house stamp that I had in my stash (I don't know the name of it, sorry) I shaded underneath the gonk and house with an alcohol marker, slightly darker than the ink, to give it some depth. I stamped and coloured a pumpkin, and placed it off the tag.  and cut off the remaining pumpkin.  I love a tag which has an overlapping piece. Cardz for Galz #207 - Leaves

Image
This is my first post as DT for Cardz for Galz , I have been so anxious about which project I will go with.  The Theme for this challenge is LEAVES. So I decided to go with the Life's a Great Adventure sentiment and a beautiful topper of a cheetah, which is sitting in a large pile of leaves.  I love how this page has come together. I started making this journal page by using a collage technique.  I used cheetah paper, some gold paper, vintage music paper, and two strips of gold washi tape. I stencilled some dots using walnut stain, which represents the cheetah spots. I then stamped some leaves in black ink over the sentiment and over the cheetah  I used a safari type stamp on the top right corner and over the washi tape. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my make, and don't forget to join in the Leave theme challenge over at  Cardz 4 galz Let's connect on Instagram Join me on Pinterest
