Cardz 4 Galz #208 - Stencil, Sentiment and Image

Image
Hi Friends,  Wow, can you believe how quickly September is going?  Today is the  Cardz 4 Galz #208  and today's theme is: Stencil, Sentiment and Image I used a stamp that I have had for many many years.  It's from Santoro London and is called The Getaway.  It usually has a rocking horse behind the girl.  But I decided that I didn't want the rocking horse on this tag, so I did a bit of fussy cutting and just used the girl. I used a watercolour card to make a tag, in which I blended a moon with Squeezed Lemonade and Scattered Straw and blended the rest of the tag with Lost Soul, and at the bottom half, I stencilled over the background with hickory smoke. I stamped the bats flying behind the girl and over the moon. The edges were blended with seedless preserves. Just to tie in the purple from the girl to the tag. A sentiment was heat embossed I used 3d Pearls on the bow and purple glitter glue splodges on the background. I hope you like this tag.  I...

Trick or Treat Art Journal Page

Image
Hi Friends Today I am sharing with you an art journal page that I have titled Trick or Treat. I started by stencilling the moon with Lost Shadow and used Hickory Smoke for the shadow over the moon. I blended tumbled glass around the moon to cast a shadow. I used a stencil to create the trees with Forest Moss. The dies were cut from Tim Holtz Halloween Vault set. And finished it with a splattering of mica spray. Embossing Techniques: A complete guide for beginners

Image
Hi Friends,  I will be sharing a few different ways of embossing.  What is Embossing? Embossing is the practice of creating a raised design or text on the surface of your card, paper or other materials you may be using in your paper crafting. Texture is so important. Embossed surfaces are not only nice to look at, but it's also tactile and it's a great empty space filler! Embossing adds a subtle finish to your paper crafting, giving it extra dimension and interest. You can choose to leave it plain or if you really want to enhance the design you can use with colour. You can achieve an embossed effect using readily available craft products on the surface (such as embossing powder or texture paste) or using pressure to create the raised effect with dry embossing.     Embossing using Embossing Folders An Embossing Folder is a folder that has been designed to go through a die-cutting machine. Rather than cutting the card as a die would, instead, the design o...

Cardz for Galz #207 - Leaves

Image
This is my first post as DT for Cardz for Galz , I have been so anxious about which project I will go with.  The Theme for this challenge is LEAVES. So I decided to go with the Life's a Great Adventure sentiment and a beautiful topper of a cheetah, which is sitting in a large pile of leaves.  I love how this page has come together. I started making this journal page by using a collage technique.  I used cheetah paper, some gold paper, vintage music paper, and two strips of gold washi tape. I stencilled some dots using walnut stain, which represents the cheetah spots. I then stamped some leaves in black ink over the sentiment and over the cheetah  I used a safari type stamp on the top right corner and over the washi tape. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my make, and don't forget to join in the Leave theme challenge over at  Cardz 4 galz Let's connect on Instagram Join me on Pinterest

Hi All,  I am so thrilled to announce that I am now part of the Design Team for  Paper Funday Challenges , have you heard of it??? In case you haven't,  Paper Funday Challenges  is a fantastic blog, where you can enter your makes, the  challenges are Always Anything Goes, If you want a little bit more of a challenge you can choose the "Optional Twist" option,  and if you are the lucky winner, you even get a prize.  Now that is cool!!! For my make, I have coloured the cutest little dude, called Twiggy by our wonderful sponsor Sheep Ski Designs . First I matted and layered the card, then cut a circle in all of the layers. I made sure that Twiggy would fit across the card, as I wanted him to look like he was  able to swing through that hole :) I printed him twice so that i could decoupage the leaves, then I coloured him in with Alcohol Markers from Spectrum Noir. I hope you enjoyed this card, and if you are feeling inspired, please pop over to ...
