How to make a Bracelet from an Ice lolly (Popsicle) Stick

With the summer already up on us, and lolly pop sticks are out in force.  I thought that this project would fit the bill.

Items Needed:
  • Ice lolly/Popsicle sticks
  • Drinking glass/cup (for forming- use a glass with a top opening that is slightly smaller than you want your bracelet to end up)
  • Emery board or sand paper
  • Acrylic paint
  • Stick on jewels (for bling)
  • Mod Podge

Allow the lollypop / Popsicle sticks to sit in water overnight.

They are easier to curve them to fit into the top of a drinking glass once they have become completely saturated.

If you find the sticks are not pliable enough after the overnight soaking, soak them in boiling water for a further 30 minutes.

Be prepared, that some of the sticks may snap, so I suggest that you aim to make more than you actually need.

Pop them in the rim of the glass and leave to dry out overnight, then take them out, if they have not completely dried leave them a further night.

Sand the sticks smooth with the emery board so that all edges and paint surfaces are smooth.

Now lets get creative.

Paint the sticks however you want, don’t forget to add some bling

NB, the paint will cause the sticks  to open up a bit, which is why I suggested that you use a glass smaller than you require the bracelets to be…..see I have thought of everything LOL.
