Summer is finally here in the UK,  So i have only one thing on my mind.. Gardening.  Well that's not strictly true, its revamping the garden, I leave all the weeding to my wonderful hubby.  He was born with the green fingers, where as i was born to have my fingers covered in paint, glitter, glue and anything else i can craft with. I found a image that i loved, and I drew up a stencil from card. I cleaned up the pots as best as i could, but they were weather worn, but that did not matter.  The first step was to paint the terracotta, i decided to go with cream and green,  as i think these two colours work amazingly well together.  Does the green look familiar??? If you have read the  DIY tiered flower pots  post you would recognise it. Once the pots had dried, I drew the stencil on, I varied the picture on the pots so they were not to same-y. I have been wanting , no NEEDING a sideboard for months.  I have looked everywhere for a nice one, but alas, nothing (well, within my price range anyway). When i found one on EBay that was only a few miles away i jumped at it.... well you have to don't you. And here she is: I have to apologise for the picture, i always seem to jump in to the decorating before taking photos of the before..... So I picked this up for £30.00, as you can see it had a scorch mark on the top, a few scratches here and there, but that did not matter.  I loved her. I mixed up a batch of my  Homemade chalk paint .. recipe can be found HERE After a few coat of paint a little distressing on the corners and drawers.....here she is..... What do you think? Andrea from Andrea's Attic found these chairs on Craigslist for $50. Wow! She must have seen their hidden potential, because I would have run the other way. Just wanted to let you guys know I woke up to some cool blogging news this morning. I have been featured on Someday Crafts  for the Chopstick Bowl , why not pop over and have a look. This sewing tutorial shows you how to recycle a pair of old jeans into an Apron. Materials Old pair of blue jeans, Fabric, Ruler, Scissors, Ribbon, Sewing Machine, Denim Needle for your machine 1. Lay your jeans out with the backside up. Take your ruler and measure down from the top of your jeans 12&1/2", Sketch a line at 12&1/2" across your jeans and cut along side it. (This is cutting off the legs of your jeans; you won’t need those for this project.) Also cut down the side seams of your jeans. We only need the backside layer.  2. Measure the width of the bottom edge, double that number and cut FOUR 3" fabric strips from a pretty patterned fabric. (The measurement is different depending on the size of your jeans....

Skill Level Easy Materials 3/4 inch Plywood or pallet wood 30 Chopsticks the tiniest nail you can find wood glue Tools A good jigsaw that cuts with angle, or a regular jigsaw A file A compass How to make it: On your piece of wood, draw an 8.5 inches circle, if you have the angle cutting jigsaw, cut the circle with 30 degrees angle. So you want to make a bottle cap pendant. You'll need:  A heat gun or an old funky hairdryer Bottle caps, un-pressed or not used Something with a sharp point.  Your cheap jewellery tools. I wouldn't use your nice ones for this. A hammer A mat- I use one of those self healing cutting mats intended for scrap booking. Firstly, we are going to remove that plastic seal in the bottle cap. When you smoosh the cap you have less room to work with so we are going to make a little more by taking this out. Grab your bottle cap with your pliers and heat that baby up with your hair dryer. Make it hot. Carefully take your sharp instrument and peel back the plastic. Once I get it started good I grab hold of it with my pliers and pull. pull, pull. Some are harder than others.
