50 Ideas for using Twitter for Business

Image
I was chatting with my sister, Jane,  recently about the social media sites we both use.  We are totally into Facebook and I use others such as Pinterest and Twitter .  Jane had one word to use to sum up her opinion of Twitter: "Pointless." It started me thinking……what exactly can you do with this "Twitter" and how can you make any strides forward, business-wise? For those who are far from being "twitter-nerds," here are a bunch of ideas from Adam Toren to get those creative juices going. 1. Jump right in and start an account! It’s easy and you will have taken the first step. 2. Take some time to prepare your profile. Don’t use one of those stock backgrounds as it just screams "newbie" and doesn’t inspire. 3. Always, repeat always put a photograph in your profile. Hundreds of thousands of users don’t and ensure that they join the ranks of the also-rans. The visual image is very potent. 4. Try some tweets. Don’

How to make a Bracelet from an Ice lolly (Popsicle) Stick

Image
With the summer already up on us, and lolly pop sticks are out in force.  I thought that this project would fit the bill. Items Needed: Ice lolly/Popsicle sticks Drinking glass/cup (for forming- use a glass with a top opening that is slightly smaller than you want your bracelet to end up) Emery board or sand paper Acrylic paint Stick on jewels (for bling) Mod Podge Allow the lollypop / Popsicle sticks to sit in water overnight. They are easier to curve them to fit into the top of a drinking glass once they have become completely saturated. If you find the sticks are not pliable enough after the overnight soaking, soak them in boiling water for a further 30 minutes. Be prepared, that some of the sticks may snap, so I suggest that you aim to make more than you actually need. Pop them in the rim of the glass and leave to dry out overnight, then take them out, if they have not completely dried leave them a furthe

DIY Light Box Tutorial

Image
Good close up photography requires good lighting. The lighting that is needed to provide the product to be shown to its best colour and detail is difficult to achieve. A light box is the perfect solution to this. The lightbox provides light diffusion and a uniform background to your project. Unfortunately they can be expensive, but as you know if there is a frugal option, I will find it. Materials Cardboard box (Yes i used an old nappy box) Tracing Paper Few sheets of white card/paper Ruler Cutting knife Sticky Tape Lightening for the box (ideally clip on table type) Step 1 Choose a box the appropriate size for the project you want to photograph. You could make a number of different sized boxes for different sized projects. My box was a nappy box box from the gruesome twosome. Step 2 Make sure the bottom of the box is securely fastened before you start to cut the sides. Step 3 If your box has flaps, cut these off. Step 4 Mark the inside of the box with lines about 1 inch (2.5
